3 Key findings From 2014/15 Training- question on curriculum and designated safeguarding leads identified a number of areas of concern around Gender Based violence, Female Gentile Mutilation, Forced Marriage, Honour Based Violence, Young Carers, Private Fostering, Gangs and Violence, Fabricated or induced illness and Sexting DSL supervision and attendance at district network meetings. Governance – review of action plan by governing/responsible body

4 Expectations for 2016 Update the current self-assessment tool for the period April 2015 to March 2016.Deadline 24 th March 2016 in line with Easter break. Focus group to be set up in May to look at improving the on-line tool New tool to be available from September 2106 Information from previous self-assessment will be available.

5 BAIT CSE resource pack  The BAIT resource pack was developed for Secondary Schools and Further Education Colleges to enhance 14-17 year olds awareness and understanding of the dangers of CSE.  In June 2015 BAIT was delivered to all Secondary Schools and Further Education Colleges in Birmingham  The Board agreed to evaluate its impact on young people and feedback the findings to Headteachers.

By completing the Teaching Professional Survey it enable you to tell us about what other safeguarding educational resources you would like us to develop for use in Secondary Schools and FE Colleges. To date schools haven’t started using the Student Feedback survey or the Teaching Professionals Survey. Without your crucial feedback we cant start to develop new products!
