Luke 1:26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Naza- reth, 27 to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And coming in, he said to her, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you." 29 But she was very perplexed at this state- ment, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was. 30 The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. 31 "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. 32 "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;

33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end." 34 Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" 35 The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God. 36 "And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month. 37 "For nothing will be impossible with God." 38 And Mary said, "Behold, the bond- slave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.

It’s Christmas; who is this Jesus who was born? 1.Jesus is God 2.Jesus is Man, human 3.Jesus was miraculously born to a virgin 4.Jesus is the promised King, Messiah 5.Jesus is Savior

Six to seven months earlier, Gabriel announced the birth of John the Baptist to Zacharias: Luke 1:17 "It is he [John the Baptist] who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, TO TURN THE HEARTS OF THE FATHERS BACK TO THE CHILDREN, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous, so as to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

Then Elizabeth becomes pregnant with John the Baptist: Luke 1:24 After these days Elizabeth his wife became pregnant, and she kept herself in seclusion for five months, saying, 25 "This is the way the Lord has dealt with me in the days when He looked with favor upon me, to take away my disgrace among men.“ 26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, 27 to a virgin…

1. Jesus is God: the angel’s testimony Luke 1:32 "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High… 35 The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child [lit. the holy thing begotten] shall be called the Son of God.

1. Jesus is God: Isaiah’s prediction. Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.

1. Jesus is God: Jesus’ testimony Matthew 26:63 But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him, “I adjure You by the living God, that You tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.” Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, “I am; and you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” Matthew 26:65 Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has blasphemed! …”

2. Jesus is Man:. Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us… Luke 2:7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

3. Jesus was miraculously born to a virgin: Mary’s & angel’s testimonies Luke 1:26 …the angel Gabriel was sent… 27 to a virgin…and the virgin's name was Mary. 34 Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" 35 The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God. … 37 "For nothing will be impossible with God."

3. Jesus was miraculously born to a virgin: Isaiah’s prediction. Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. Matt. 1:20 …an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." 22 Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel," which translated means, “God with us."

4. Jesus is the promised King, Messiah. Luke 1:32 "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.“

4. Jesus is the promised King, Messiah: Daniel’s prediction. Daniel 7:9 …the Ancient of Days took His seat…10 "A river of fire was flowing And coming out from before Him…; The court sat, And the books were opened. … 13 …with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him. 14 "And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.

5. Jesus is Savior. The angel to Mary: Luke 1:31 "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. … Zacharias about John the Baptist: Luke 1:76 "And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare His ways; 77 To give to His people the knowledge of sal- vation by the forgiveness of their sins, 78 Because of the tender mercy of our God…

5. Jesus is Savior. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; There's just something about that name; Master, Savior, Jesus; Like the fragrance after the rain. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; Let all heaven and earth proclaim: Kings and kingdoms shall all pass away, But there's something about that name.
