2 Objectives of the Project
Standardise the core aspects of Mandatory Training Reduce duplication of Training Increase the amount of time staff spent in service Allow for more specific training to be delivered in relation to role, environment and patient/client group. Ensure mandatory training is mapped to NHSLA Ensure mandatory training is mapped to KSF Remind group of where work began Through BSBC the West Midlands Mandatory Training passport was instigated Funding through Project 9 secured by Garrett Taylor at BCH

Learning Outcomes Developed a Framework Validation process -Passport -OLM Higher Education Institutes Country Wide Approach Focus Group consolidated work from BSBC Group Wider regional approach October 22nd Reps from PCT, Partnership Trust, Acute OLM Regional approach Through identifying commonalities within training Returned to governing bodies e.g fire code, CFSMS, NBE Framework for Organisations Major part of the passport scheme, Organisations are signing up to this framework To ensure delivery of the learning outcomes Formal process it Won’t work without Positive feedback, everyone wants it formal process tarts here! Passport for Staff Can be used in silo or on conjunction with OLM Training record Learning Outcomes KSF PDR support

KSF Formal sign up Agreeing to adopt the West Midlands Training Passport as a way of working Within your Education and Learning Departments You will ensure the learning outcomes are achieved through your initial and refresher training Regardless of delivery Recommended Trainer Requirements by respective governing body Implementation – Content – page 21 – review, change, Only sign up those courses that achieve learning outcomes E.g BCU will sign up to MH, BLS, Infection Control BCH will sign up to all the more you sign up to the greater value we will see Opportunity for networking, collaborative training, support each other in developing training OLM- Naming Conventions IMPORTANT!! Page 25 Without all organisations using the prefix it won’t work Evidence for NHSLA Recognising training – progression between levels Medics

Naming Conventions 284 WMMP Introductory moving and handling 6’ illustrates that this course has covered moving and handling learning outcomes Trust ESR code Internal course title Confirmation that the course has been completed ONLY TRAINING THAT MEETS THE WMMP CONTENT SHOULD BE RECORDED IN THIS WAY BCH IMPLEMENTING NOVEMBER You don’t have to change the name Just add the WMMP prefix Followed by the course code 1-9 Internal title Clarification that course has been attended

6 Passport Training Record Validation PDR Support HR Processes
Content will not be changeable PDF READ ONLY Front Cover will be Versatile – stand alone or inside a portfolio such as UHB or City and Sandwell Sticker Vs Stamp process Staff won’t bring record with them E.G attend Mandatory Training Day Those trainers who teach to the Passport standard give out a stamp Staff insert this into their Passport Record kept by them and Education and Learning Team Electronic version means that paper passport may not be needed OLM can produce training record as you leave organisation Evidence to KSF

7 Implementation Review of Contents on a regional basis
