Summer A low, almost horizontal plateau Berm on the beach. Occurs between the dunes & the high tide line.

10. Offshore G. Trough A depression running parallel to the shore, hollowed out by wave action & currents. H. Sand Bar A ridge of sand formed by waves & longshore currents. I. Storm Bar An offshore sandbar which can be deposited by a storm. Typically occurs farther out than a longshore sand bar.
