William Taft ● Handpicked by Teddy Roosevelt as his successor ● Continued with his legacy of Trust-Busting ● - Attorney General filed 90 anti-trust lawsuits ● Pushed for the sixteenth amendment ● - Allowed the federal government to establish an income tax ● Pushed for additional civil service reform ● Responsible for the first ever presidential budget ● Was not as concerned with conservationism ● - Caused Roosevelt to turn against him
