2 Helen’s Illness 18 months old She became sick She had a high fever
The doctor thought she would die but she didn’t After the illness was gone Helen was deaf and blind They went to the eye doctor, but they said they couldn’t do anything about it

3 Meeting Anne Sullivan March 3, 1887 Anne Sullivan came to Helen’s house Helen thought it was her mother so she pulled on her dress Anne grabbed her hand to make her stop Anne gave her a doll and spelled it in her hand, but Helen didn’t understand One day while taking a stroll they stopped at a water pump. Anne put Helen’s hand in the water and spelled it Then Helen understood and she learned many new words that day

4 Making a Difference Helen wrote 5 books about her life
During World War 2 Helen went to the hospital to visit soldiers Helen went all across the United States She visited many countries and spoke to many people She met many queens, kings, and presidents She helped many blind and deaf people
