2  MDA Scheme is administered by Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India.  The aim of the scheme is assisting exporters for export promotion activities abroad.  Assistance for Air travel and charges of built up furnished stall is reimbursed through MDA scheme.  FIEO is one among the nominated agencies for disbursing MDA grants.

4 Types of Marketing Assistance From Ministry to Market the Products MDA (Marketing Development Assistance) MAI (Market Access Initiatives)

5  Assisting exporters for export promotion activities in abroad.  Encouraging Exports to participate in BSMs/Trade Fairs/ Exhibitions.  Assist Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) to undertake export promotion activities for their product(s) and commodities.  Initiatives to diversifying exports in specific regions abroad like FOCUS (LAC), Focus (Africa), Focus (CIS) and Focus (ASEAN + 2).

6  Exporting companies with an f.o.b. value of exports of up to Rs. 30 crore in the preceding year.  Exporters who has completed 12 months membership with concerned EPC / FIEO.  This condition would not apply in case of a new EPC for a period of 5 years from the date of its creation.  No such ceiling is applicable for participation in Focus LAC region.  Assistance would be permissible on travel expenses by air, in economy excursion class fair and/or charges of the built up furnished stall.

Maximum number of permissible participations shall be five in a financial year

8  Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme is an Export Promotion Scheme envisaged to act as a catalyst to promote India's exports on a sustained basis.  The scheme is formulated on focus product-focus country approach to evolve specific market and specific product through market studies/survey.

9 Why MAI  It is an Export Promotion Scheme to encourage India's export on a sustained basis.  The scheme is framed on focus product-focus country approach through market studies/survey.  Assistance would be provided to Export Promotion Organizations/ Trade Promotion Organizations/ National Level Institutions/Research Institutions/ Universities/ Laboratories, Exporters, etc.,  This is to enhancement of export through accessing new markets or through increasing the share in the existing markets.

Setting up Warehouse at various Trade Centers Overseas – Plans to set up warehouses in various countries in the near future- a gate for our members to export to countries worldwide. – Also display galleries for showcasing our products.

21 Indian trade portal (www.indiantradeportal.in) This portal developed,updated and maintained by FIEO provides vital information to Indian industry on forty-two export markets and also a mechanism to take advantage of the increased market access provided through various regional and bilateral free trade agreements (FTA) and comprehensive economic cooperation/partnership agreements (CECA/CEPA). The information is provided in a user-friendly manner in four easy steps for exporters and importers to access the portal, which will contribute to ease of doing business for trade and industry. 23 In an Endeavour to resolve complaints or trade disputes and to create confidence in the business environment of the country, a mechanism is being laid down as per the New Foreign Trade Policy (2015-2020) to address complaints and disputes in an amicable way.
