2. Books Our lives are enriched by books. We use them everyday. We can use them for writing, information or reading. A book that is very useful and very popular to this day is called the Bible. It teaches us how to follow the life of God, and his son Jesus. Stories and passages from the Bible, of how to love and bring peace to the world just like Jesus, have been passed down for many generations.

3. M ake a difference! The bible also teaches us how to make good decisions in our lives. Even if you feel like you want to impress someone or someone has told you that’s what you have to do, you need to make your own choices. Passages from the Bible will help us make our own decisions in our everyday lives.

4. Inspiration The Bible has a lot of words and passages in it. It took the writers a long time to finish there work. The Holy spirit helped them to carry on and be determined to share stories, letters and passages about Jesus. Paul wrote lots of letters from the Bible, helping people around the world to love one another. A long time ago, you wouldn’t be treated with respect if you were Christian. Paul taught his fellow Christians to stay strong in their faith, and have trust in God. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were some other writers in the Bible too.

5. Genres There are lots of different books in the Bible, with all different Genres. Here are some Genres and what they are used for: Gospels- tells us about the good news of Jesus, he is the promised saviour, and starts with stories and people in his life The Law- tells us how we must follow Gods rules and treat each other with respect Letters- helps people stay strong with whatever is going on in their lives

6. Old Testament The Old Testament was before Jesus was born. As there was no Jesus in those times, life was harder, as people didn’t know how to love. When Jesus was born, he was a Jew, and mostly Jewish people wrote books from the Bible. About 60 years ago, a teenage Shepard coincidentally found some scrolls in a cave by the Dead Sea. They were named the Dead Sea Scrolls. They contained hand-written versions from the Old Testament, with the exact same original words.

7. N ew Testament The New Testament has lots of different stories about Jesus and the good that he did for us. Starting from the birth of Jesus, until when Jesus descended up to heaven. It even has stories that Jesus told to his friends about love and forgiveness. The New Testament tells us how Jesus was the messenger of God.

8. Differences and similarities A lot of the stories in the Old Testament are about God giving people missions and helping people realise there sins. In the New Testament, it is Jesus there to help God instead. Although Jesus is added into the New Testament, there is still a lot of similarities between the Old and New Testament. For example, both have stories about good people, bad people and rules.

9. Belief Before Jesus came to the world with his amazing stories, people found it hard to believe about how the world was made. The Bible helps us to believe in God and Jesus; even though we can’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there! To be happy in life, you have to earn it- actions speak louder than words. If you want to be more like Jesus, the Bible will help you as it shows, in words, how you will live a life God will be proud of.

10. I have really enjoyed learning about the Bible. It has helped me to remember about the life of Jesus. My favourite part was looking at different books and versions of the Bible, because I didn’t know how many there was!
