2. History of Polish music The oldest Polish melody is „Bogurodzica” dated from 13th century. First known notable composer, however, Mikołaj z Radomia, lived in the 15th century.

5. Current pop music Donatan-Cleo popular Polish duet which took part in Eurovision contest in 2014.. Afromental - in my opinion is currently the best Polish music group. Kamil Bednarek is my favourite Polish vocalist.

6. Song festivals and competitions International Polish Piano Competition is one of the oldest competitions (1927) in the world and one of the greatest and the most prestigious. Festival of international songs in Sopot was initiated and organised by Władysław Szpilman in 1961. Polish Song Festival takes place in Opole since 1963. Summer is an artistic season in Poland.
