2. Tom Jenkins is a sports photographer, he has photographed many sports men and women. He has worked for many newspapers such as the independent, the daily telegraph and the Sunday express. He has been at big events in the sporting world such as the Olympic games, FIFA world cups and Wimbledon. Also Tom Jenkins has won many awards for his photography skills such as UK sports photographer of the year and Barclays premier league photograph of the year. In 2012 he held an exhibition in London and Newcastle, during this time he had a book published called ‘a moment in time’, this was to coincide with the exhibition. Tom Jenkins

3. This image by Tom Jenkins is a landscape photograph and it is a medium shot of a rugby player amongst a crowd of people in a stadium. The point of interest in this image is the rugby player, this is because he is the closest to the camera and he is the first thing that we look at. The leading lines in this image is all of the peoples hands that lead to him which help to make him the point of interest. The colours in the photograph are quite bright, we can see white, blue, green and red showing that there is a high contrast in the image as there are a range between the colours. The lighting in the image is high key natural lighting, this is because the lighting in the image is from the outside. This photograph has a broad depth of field, this is because everything in the image is in focus. The image is centralised because our point of interest is in the middle if the image. The photograph is taken with fast shutter speed, this is because the image is a freeze frame and everything is in focus. The image is taken at a rugby match, we can see the rugby player walking through a crowed of people and he is wearing a typical rugby kit and the number on his back stands out against the white of his top.

4. This image by Tom Jenkins is a landscape photograph, it is taken in a medium shot and shows the middle of a football game. The photographs point of interest is the football player that is framed by the goal keepers arms, this is because he is the most in focus and there are many leading lines that help to make him the focus of the image. The photograph is colourful, we can see this from the colour of the football kits and all of the people that are watching the game. The lighting in this image is natural, this is because all the light is coming from the outside. This image has a narrow depth of field, this is because only a certain amount of the image is in focus. The photograph is also centralised as everything in the image is mostly in the middle of the photograph, the photograph was also taken in fast shutter speed and it has a high contrast as there are a range between colours. The photograph is set in a football ground capturing when someone goes to score a goal, the photograph is also in the rule of thirds, we can see that the football players and the football all are in a third or are in the centre of the image.

5. This image by Tom Jenkins is again a landscape photograph, it is a long shot of an athlete running. The point of interest in the photograph is the athlete, this is because he is the closest thing to the camera and it has a broad depth of field as everything in the image is in focus. The leading lines in this image are the triangles, they lead to the athlete which is our point of interest. The colours in the photograph are very neutral, none of the colours stand out as they are blues, whites and greys. The lighting in the image is high key natural lighting, this is because the light is coming from the outside. The image is centralised, this is because our point of interest, the athlete, is in the centre of the image. Low contrast is used in the image because the colours in the image are very similar and none of them stand out. The image is also taken in fast shutter speed because the image is a freeze frame image. The image is taken in a stadium and the athlete is running, he is wearing typical athletes clothing showing that he is an athlete taking part in a race. There are no people in the stadium as the seats are empty which suggests that he may be practising for a race that is coming up.

6. This photograph by Tom Jenkins is again taken landscape, and it is a long shot because we can vaguely see the athletes in the image. The point of interest in the photograph is the athlete that is in the centre of the image, the image is taken with slow shutter speed as it is capturing the journey of light which creates leading lines and this then leads us to the point of interest. There are many colours in this image, we can see yellows, blues and some red and black in the photograph. This is again due to the slow shutter speed as their cycling clothes are making the image have all of these colours. The lighting in the image is low key ambient lighting, this is because the image is quite dark and this lighting is man made. The image also has a narrow depth of field as only the cyclists are only vaguely in focus. The image is again centralised as everything is in the middle of the photograph and there is high contrast in the image as there is a range between the colours as they are quite bright and don’t blend together. You can’t see where the photograph is set because of the shutter speed and you also can’t see what the cyclists are wearing again because of the shutter speed.

7. This photograph taken by Tom Jenkins is again a landscape image, it is a medium long shot of people celebrating. The point of interest in this image is the person with their arms in the air that is closer to the camera. In this image there are not really any leading lines apart from the persons arms which help to show that they are the point of interest. There are no stand out colours in the image, mostly black, white and some red, this means that the photograph has low contrast as the colours are similar. The lighting in the image is ambient lighting, we can see in the background a light which suggests that it is artificial lighting. The photograph has a narrow depth of field, this is because nothing in the image is in focus apart from the person with their arms in the air. The image is also centralised because our point of interest is in the centre of the image, also the image has fast shutter speed because the image is a freeze frame and you can see every individual droplet of water. The image is of people celebrating and because of the confetti/ water you can’t see people clearly or where they are when the photograph is being taken.
