Training and Staff Development Training staff is vital in order to make sure that: Workers are able to do their job to the best of their ability. Introducing business policy (eg Health & Safety) and procedures. An introduction to the employees of the firm. This is carried out on a one-to-one basis (employee and line manager). Its purpose is to: to evaluate the performance of the employee. to set realistic future targets. to assess any training needs. 3.
