Introduction The webMethods Product Suite 7.1 components provide the run-time environment for: PD² Document Transfer Utility PD² Archiving Utility PD2 Adapter v3.0. This document is designed to guide sites through the process of upgrading to webMethods Product Suite 7.1.3. The webMethods Product Suite version has been shortened to 7.1 throughout much of the guide. For the purposes of this guide the versions 7.1 and 7.1.3 are synonymous. The upgrade process uses the following components: webMethods Pre-Configuration webMethods 7.1 Installation webMethods Post Configuration

CACI Proprietary Information | Date 4 4 3. Run webMethods Pre-Configuration The webMethods Pre-Configuration Package Executable Extracts several files to a directory on the webMethods machine. It makes modifications to several of the files based on the input gathered on each screen. 3.1 Update SSH Tectia configuration file If using SSH Tectia, ensure the appropriate updates are completed according to the instructions.

(The Welcome to the webMethods Pre-Configuration Installer window opens.)

Note: The screen shot may look different than the actual screen depending on where the files were extracted as described in Section 2.2 Unpack webMethods 7.1 Pre-Configuration Installer.

Click the [Next] button after selecting the appropriate folder. (The webMethods 7.1 Directory window opens.)

If a window is shut down prior to the installer completing the installer will not be able to install the application correctly. Install webMethods Product Suite 7.1 4.1 Execute the webMethods 7.1 Installer WARNING: If technical failure (power outage, system outage, etc.) is experienced during the installation process, please contact the SPS Help Desk for instructions on how to recover. It is imperative to have a backup of the machine prior to starting the installation process. Locate the “ \SoftwareAGInstaller80SP2.exe” file where is the fully qualified path to the webMethods Pre-Configuration files (e.g., C:\wMPreConfig\sr13). Right-click and select Run as administrator to launch the Installation Wizard.

Install webMethods Product Suite 7.1 4.1 Execute the webMethods 7.1 Installer Note: A Site may experience an error message similar to the one in the following window due to inaccessible default system temporary folder defined in the TEMP and TMP Windows user variables. Refer to Appendix J: Assigning an Accessible Temporary Folder to the Windows User Variables for steps to define the TEMP and TMP Windows user variables with an accessible temporary folder.

It is not unusual for the installer to take several minutes to complete this setup. Do not close any windows that may open during the installation process. If a window is shut down prior to the installer completing the installer will not be able to install the application correctly. If this happens, please contact the SPS Help Desk for instructions on how to recover. If the user gets a “Broker not started” error during the installation, it can be ignored as long as the webMethods Broker Server 7.1 service can be started. Refer to Appendix C: Start webMethods Broker Service for detailed instructions on starting the webMethods Broker service.

Refer to Appendix K: Start a Command Prompt as an Administrator for detailed instructions. (The DOS command window opens.)

Install webMethods Product Suite 7.1 4.2 Validate the webMethods Product Suite 7.1 Installation Change directory to the webMethods Integration Server ‟ s bin directory, by using the following command cd /d \bin where is fully qualified path to the Integration Server directory (e.g., C:\webMethods71\Integration Server). (The cd command opens.)

Upon execution the “server.bat” file initializes the webMethods Integration Server ‟ s operating environment and launches the application. (The title of the command window changes to webMethods Integration Server.)

Install webMethods Product Suite 7.1 4.2 Validate the webMethods Product Suite 7.1 Installation Note: Informational or error type messages may be returned during the restart of the webMethods Integration Server. If this occurs, these can be ignored. Note: It may take several minutes for the webMethods Integration Server to start.

In the Address field enter “http:// : ” where is the name or IP Address of the server and is the webMethods listening port. The default is 5555. (The Enter Network Password window opens.)

(The webMethods Administrator page displays.)

(The Services window opens.) Verify that the webMethods Broker Monitor 7.1 and webMethods Broker Server 7.1 ( ) services are installed with a Status of Started. If the service status does not show it as Started, Refer to Appendix C: Start webMethods Broker Service for detailed instructions on starting the webMethods Broker service.

(The current directory is changed to \ support\win32) Execute the “installSvc.bat unreg” file by typing installSvc.bat unreg and pressing.

Locate the previously saved webMethods Post Configuration executable, right-click and select Run as administrator to launch the Installation Wizard. (The Welcome to the webMethods Post- Configuration Installer window opens.)

(The webMethods 7.1 Directory window opens.) Select the folder containing the webMethods 7.1 instance. Click the [Browse] button to select a folder other than the default. Click the [Next] button when the appropriate folder has been selected.

Note: CACI recommends setting the Maximum and Minimum memory settings to the same value.

Run webMethods Post Configuration 5.1 Run the webMethods Post Configuration Package Executable Note: Due to a limitation with a third-party caching component used by webMethods, it may be desirable to configure webMethods to use less than the maximum JVM setting for Windows (~1500 MB). In some cases OutOfMemory and caching exceptions can be avoided by reducing the memory assigned to the JVM, thereby allowing more of the machine’s memory to be available for non-JVM processes. Click the [Next] button. (The Start Copying Files window opens.)

Run webMethods Post Configuration 5.3 Modify the Windows Service for webMethods Integration Server In a typical configuration of the application(s) in the SPS Product Suite the webMethods Integration Server is running as a Windows service using a system account. In order for SSH Tectia ConnectSecure to operate properly, the webMethods Integration Server must be running using a local account and SSH Tectia ConnectSecure must be running as a service using the same local account so that it can successfully “peek” into the TCP stack. This local user account should be setup as a member of the Administrators group. The following steps should be executed to modify the Windows Service for webMethods Integration Server.

Open a Command Prompt window as the Administrator. Refer to Appendix K: Start a Command Prompt as an Administrator for detailed instructions. Change directory to \MWS\bin\. Enter “mws.bat –s upgrade” and press to execute the upgrade process. Where is the My webMethods Server instance name. For example mws.bat –s default upgrade.

CACI Proprietary Information | Date 55 5. Run webMethods Post Configuration 5.6 Upgrade My webMethods Server When the above step is completed close the Command Prompt window. Start the My webMethods Server instance. Refer to Appendix H: Start My webMethods Server for detailed instructions on starting the My webMethods Server. Note: If this is the first time My webMethods Server has started since the upgrade, it might take more than 45 minutes for the server to startup. In the following log file \MWS\server\default\logs\system.out look for the following text “Done cleaning temp folder”. At this point the server has started.

Refer to Appendix A: Shutdown webMethods Integration Server for steps to stop all webMethods Integration Server instances. Start the corresponding Integration Server instance. Refer to Appendix D: Start webMethods Integration Server for steps to start the new webMethods Integration Server Instance. If the latest IAVA update was applied before the webMethods upgrade process then run the Update webMethods JDK section in the appropriate SPS Java JVM Upgrade Guide.

Installation of v1.67 Legacy Common file from the 1Q11 integrations is needed for compatibility between the 4Q10 Integrations package and the latest installation of webMethods 7.1.
