2 Overview of the Program The New Administrator Program provides leadership training through targeted professional development on urgent issues that administrators encounter throughout the school year.

3 Who is eligible to attend? First and second year assistant principals and other school site personnel currently enrolled in Professional Administrative Services Credential (Tier II) Programs are eligible to attend.

5 Our Curriculum Each session of the New Administrator Program will focus on leadership development experiences for new school site administrators. Topics include the following: Maintaining a Safe, Clean and Violence-Free Environment Parents as Partners on Governance Councils Legal Issues for Administrators Improving the Teaching and Learning Process: Recognizing and Promoting Quality Instruction Supervision of Instruction: Observation and Feedback Conducting Performance Evaluations* Technology for Leaders: MyData Systems Leading the Multi-Tiered Problem Solving Process to Frame a Quality Instructional Program (RTI 2 ) Ensuring Equity and Access for All Students through Differentiation Planning the Work and Working the Plan: Utilizing the Problem Solving Process to Improve Teacher Practice and Improve Student Achievement * In order to attend this session, participants must presently be serving as an Assistant Principal.

6 Personalized Program Options The New Administrator Program offers excellent support and preparation for current assistant principals and future principals in a variety of formats, participants can: Attend up to ten monthly training sessionsAttend up to ten monthly training sessions Take additional approved online courses through the Learning ZoneTake additional approved online courses through the Learning Zone Participate in the personalized New Administrator Readiness program using the Administrator Readiness Portfolio Guide designed to assist participants in preparing for future promotional opportunities.Participate in the personalized New Administrator Readiness program using the Administrator Readiness Portfolio Guide designed to assist participants in preparing for future promotional opportunities. Upon completion of course work participants will receive a Leadership Certificate indicating the number of hours in attendance in the New Administrator Program.

7 Enrollment Procedures In order to participate in these classes you must: Complete the New Administrator Program Data SheetComplete the New Administrator Program Data Sheet Enroll in each session on Learning Zone no later than one week prior to the date of the class.Enroll in each session on Learning Zone no later than one week prior to the date of the class. Access the Learning Zone site by doing the following: –Go to http://lz.lausd.net. Log in using your Single Sign-on information. –Click on “Courses” (Upper left side of screen) –Click on “Class Offerings” –Change Program Name drop down to “Leadership Academy” –Click “Search” –Click on the NAP sessions and then click on “Enroll now” Maximum capacity is 50 participants. All sessions will be held on Mondays from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. at the Beaudry Building in Conference Room 14-246.
