3 Present Progressive used to say what is happening RIGHT NOW! used to say what is happening RIGHT NOW! Examples: Examples: 1. She is watching television. 2. They are swimming in the pool. 3. I am preparing dinner. 3

4 To form the Present Progressive tense in Spanish: 1. Start with subject 2. Conjugate the verb ESTAR to match the subject 3. Form the present participle (-ing) in Spanish by adding the correct ending to the main verb 4

6 2. Add the correct ending to the main verb -ar ando -er/-ir iendo CAUTION!!! If a verb has 2 vowels like creer, caer, leer, oír… -iendo → -yendo 6
