Children and Young People may experience different types of transitions, which may include:
Emotional, affected by personal experiences, eg, bereavement, entering/leaving care
Physical, eg, moving to a new educational establishment, a new home or locality, from one activity to another
Physiological, eg, long term medical conditions
Intellectual eg, moving from pre-school to primary to post primary
Smaller daily transitions
Explain how you would support children and young people during each transition.
Evaluate how each transition may affect their development and evaluate the effect on children and young people of having positive relationships during periods of transition linking this to your own experiences within the setting.
