New Catalyst 3650 Series Switch for Wired/Wireless Convergence

The Cisco Catalyst 3650 Series Switches combine wired and wireless access and are optimized for branch offices with less than two hundred users. Supporting bring-your-own-device (BYOD) for mobile access, these converged access switches offer higher levels of performance, security, and operational enhancements over previous generations of switches.

Catalyst 3650 Switch Features
Cisco Catalyst 3650 Series Switches are powered by the new Cisco Unified Access Data Plane (UADP) ASIC and built on advanced Cisco StackWise-160 technology. It enables uniform wired-wireless policy enforcement, application visibility, flexibility, application optimization, and superior resiliency.

The Catalyst 3650 features line rate 24 and 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports and an integrated wireless controller. It can be stacked in groups of nine switches for support of up to 25 access points and 1,000 clients at 40Gbps.Uplinks on the switch include 4 x1G, 2 x 10G or 4 x 10G fixed ports. It features native support for NetFlow analytics on all ports, and full Layer 3 routing capabilities, as well as eight queues per port for priority and quality-of-service.

Cisco 3650 PoE function The switch also features PoE+ for powering external voice, video and wireless gear, and a multicore CPU for hosted services. It also supports Cisco’s TrustSec role-base security architecture and SmartOperations for network planning, deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting.
