2 Further Mathematics Support Programme (FMSP) Cath Moore

3 The Further Mathematics Support Programme  The FMSP is a national DfE-funded programme which supports schools and colleges with KS4 and post-16 mathematics.  We promote the uptake of AS and A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics through enrichment events and student activities.  We provide extensive professional development and teaching resources to enhance the teaching of mathematics at GCSE and A level.

4 The Further Mathematics Support Programme  We liaise with universities over entry requirements and provide information and resources to help students prepare for mathematically-rich degree courses.  We work with schools and colleges with the aim of ensuring every student in England has the opportunity to study AS and A level Further Mathematics.  We are also committed to encouraging more girls to take up A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and to improving the gender balance between students taking these qualifications.

5 The Further Mathematics Support Programme  The FMSP is a national partner to the Maths Hubs Programme, supporting the key aim of increasing post- 16 participation in mathematics.  Our Area Coordinators and Associates will work with Maths Hubs to enhance our activities and to extend the reach of our support to schools and colleges within each Hub.
