3. ? What is a rainforest? A rainforest is a steamy place that has four different layers. These layers are called the emergent, canopy, understory, and the forest floor.

4. Location of Rain Forests There is not much rainforest left in the world. There is 6% of rainforest covering the earths surface.

5. Emergent Layer The emergent layer is the very top layer in the rain forest. In this layer some animals live there. The animals are a harpy eagle, monkeys, sloths, and parrots.

6. Canopy Layer The canopy layer is the second layer of where many animals live in the rain forest. There are butterflies, parrots, orchids, insects, monkeys, birds, toucan, three toad sloths, ocelots, and much more.

7. Understory Layer The understory layer is the third layer in the rain forest. Many animals live there like macaws, red eyed tree frogs, lianas, grasshoppers, quills, jaguars, and capuchin monkeys.

8. Forest Floor The forest floor is where lots of animals, plants, and food for other animals live.

9. Deforestation Deforestation is when workers cut down rain forest to make furniture, homes, and buildings

10. People of the Rain Forest There are not only animals, people live there too. Some people of the rainforest are the Yanomamo tribe.
