2. 58.25% of Westmoor Students are on Free/Reduced lunch status. Up 7% The mobility rate at WE is 14.40% The state average is 12%. WE was 8.35% the prior year. Westmoor enrollment is 439 and has been as high as 452 this year. Enrollment is up 120 students since 2005. 61% of the students are white; 49% are minority primarily Hispanic.

3. Westmoor houses the Mutlicategorical Program for the district. There are 25 students in the program. 57% of Westmoor teachers have a Master’s Degree. Westmoor teachers have an average of 11 years teaching experience. There were five new classroom teachers this year. A total of 33 certified staff, 23 classified staff, plus food service and custodial serve our students. Class size ranges from 18 – 27 with an average class size of 22.

4. Re-teaching both during class time and after school. Every other Wednesday is set aside for re-teaching and enrichment during regular math and reading. After school targeted intervention for grades 2-5. Implement the new Bridges math curriculum. Pre-kindergarten intervention for 16 students identified through kindergarten screening.

5. ACES behavior program implementation divided between the team members. Each team member responsible for monitoring one grade level. Highlighted components are 16 Proactive Strategies, Check In/Check Out, School Home Note and the Good Behavior Game. Second Step curriculum has been implemented in all grade levels. PLC and CAS meetings each month with classroom teachers and intervention teachers focused on student achievement and areas of concern.

6. Continued implementation of the 21 st Century After School program that serves students from Westmoor, Longfellow and Lincoln Heights. Continued SRP protocol. Updated the entry camera and applied target hardening on glass surfaces by doorways. Continued the Advanced Ed Accreditation procedures including documentation review of testing, surveys and goals.

7. Grades 3-4-5 were 84% proficient in reading. Grades 3-4-5 were 76% proficient in math Grade 5 was 78% proficient in science. Grade 3 led the scores with 87% proficiency in reading and math. Grade 4 was 71% proficient in the state writing test, which was down from the year before. Friday morning assemblies continue to be a great time to share student accomplishments and build Wildcat pride.

8. 5 th graders gave their Christmas exchange money to a young student that needed heart surgery. Jump rope for Heart raised $3,543 in February. In September, the annual Family Fun Back to School Night was a great success. There were bounce houses, snow cones, hot dogs and chips for everyone. Continued daytime events for parent involvement. Mrs. Laucomer received a technology grant to incorporate IPads in the High Ability Learner program and her regular classroom during the 4 th quarter of the year.

9. Westmoor staff raised $438 for the family of Diana Hernandez-Lopez by running the concessions during the boys Basketball District Championship game. Strong collegiality among the staff.
