1 Strategic Action Planning How Do We Do THAT?

2 What Is a Strategic Action Plan? A plan for the future. What would you like to see happening in __ months/years? How do we make a Strategic Action Plan? Chapter members work as a team generating goals or expectations, strategies for achieving them, persons responsible, evaluation criteria and date. Who should be involved? All members should be involved in the process and approve the plan.

3 When should one be created? How often should the plan be revised? As often as needed: annually, biennially, even semi- annually. What do we do if the old one is lost? Create a new one. What’s the best (easiest) format? A Strategic Action Plan Model is available on MI ΔΚΓ website. Or, generate your own form, including what, how, who, and by when.

4 Using the Model Let’s do one suggested objective together … one in the area of Technology Goal: To use available technology to improve Society awareness, communication, and effectiveness Objective: Chapters will appoint a chapter member to visit the Michigan and International websites on a regular basis and to share the results at chapter meetings and in chapter newsletters.

Chapter Strategic Action Objective Objective – include chapter objective/ could be same or different Method & Persons – include specific tasks/supervisor Success Indicators – if successful, what will you expect to see different? 10 Now You’re Ready … Determine goal/s (Think BIG!) Select smaller objectives which will move you toward that goal Assign someone to supervise/oversee movement toward the objective/s Choose outcomes that will indicate success Establish a date to evaluate progress Monitor, review, judge Repeat process (modify old, select new, etc.)
