5 Question # 1 “Why did the United States foreign policy goals change in the late 1800’s.” Answer: The United States industrialized after the Civil War and needed new markets for its booming industries. The spirit of nationalism and the adventure of obtaining new lands also helped change the foreign policy goals of the U.S.A.
