3 What makes us entrepreneurial? A certain type of person? Do circumstances determine who will succeed? Can we all become entrepreneurs given the right environment?

7 Entrepreneurial people trigger innovation. So, what’s innovation?

8 What’s innovation? “Innovation happens when an idea is transformed into something of value. To accomplish this, an opportunity has to be identified then realised.” Bill Bolton and John Thompson (2006)

9 It’s about who you are.

10 4 factors - measuring pole Person (Character, talents, temperament) Opportunity (its nature and growth potential) Leadership (championing the opportunity in order to exploit its potential to the full) Exploitation & control (How resources are acquired (how resources are acquired, deployed, managed and controlled)

11 What motivates you? Why do you want to do it? Does it feel comfortable? Does your instinct say yes? Do you crave independence or challenges?

12 Your values Values are those things you consider to be important. They guide your actions and are part of who you are.

13 How do my values relate to my business?

14 Passions Your passion fuels your actions. It’s important to integrate your passion into what you do to create enthusiasm; inspiring and engaging those around you.
