2 End Water Poverty members End Water Poverty is a membership campaign made up of 185 charities, non-profits, NGOs, professional networks, trade unions and interest groups. End Water Poverty is powered and driven by its wide member base. Membership is free. Members are given campaign resources to support national level work and to link into global moments of action. Resources and strategies are developed with members. Members are welcome to join the forums and task teams, and to apply for election to the Steering Committee in December 2012. Main methods of communications with members and across the membership is through the website, email lists, the blog, e- newsletter, postal mailings and through twitter and facebook.

3 The Steering Committee The Steering Committee consists of 12 member organisations of the campaign from Africa, Europe, North America and South Asia. The Committee steers the campaign and governs the International Secretariat. The current Steering Committee was established in December 2010 and will be reviewed in December 2012. 4 The International Secretariat The International Secretariat of End Water Poverty is based in London, UK and is staffed by: –Fleur Anderson, International Campaign Coordinator –Serena O’Sullivan, Campaigns and Communications Officer The Secretariat manages the recruitment and retention of members, funding of the campaign, builds partnerships across the development sector, coordinates and supports the task teams and produces campaign materials and resources. 5 The task teams Task teams for each aim of the campaign were established in January 2011. They are coordinated by a member of the Steering Committee and devise advocacy and campaign strategies for each aim’s objectives. –The three aims are: 1. Prioritization and targeting: Governments prioritize sanitation and water, by increasing sanitation and water funding and improving the targeting of WASH funding to the most marginalized countries and communities. 2. Sanitation and Water for All: The Sanitation and Water for All partnership becomes an established, effective mechanism to improve access to safe and sustainable sanitation and water services for increased numbers of poor and marginalized people. 3. Water, sanitation and other sectors: The health and education sectors globally and nationally recognize, integrate and take action on sanitation and water. The task teams can use the forums as resources to support their activities. Membership of the task teams is open to all End Water Poverty member organisations. 6 The forums There are forums focused on Communications, Media and Policy. These forums are email groups which can be consulted for support by the task teams and Secretariat. They do not meet physically. Forums consist of skilled staff from members in the relevant skill areas. –The Policy Forum is made up of around 60 professional policy staff and advise on campaign policy and positions. –The new Communications Forum is a small group pushing forward central communication materials such as the redesign of the website and toolkits. –The new Media Forum consists of media staff from members and are consulted on media strategies at focused moments through the year.
