2 Verb Tense Review  Lets review 3 verb tenses: 1. Past Continuous I was cooking at 3 AM. 2. Simple Past I cooked last night. 3. Present ContinuousI am cooking. 4. Simple PresentI like to cook. 5. Future Continuous I will be cooking. 6. Simple Future I will cook.

3 To Study Present Tense: She ____English. Present Continuous: She Past Tense: She Past Continuous: She Future Continuous Tense: She Future Tense: She studies is studying English. studied English. was studying English will be studying English. will study English.

4 Today… -Simple past tense (regular & irregular verbs) -Past continuous tense Review: The Past Tense (unit 2)

5 Simple Past Tense  ‘Did’ implies events that occurred in the past  The simple past tense describes events that took place over a period of time… (add ‘ed’) Note: When a verb ends with ‘t’ or ‘d,’ an extra syllable is added!

6 Yes and No Questions… was was Yesdid were wasn’t wasn’t Nodidn’t weren’t

7 Irregular Verbs & Past Continuous  The past continuous describes an activity taking progress.  It is commonly used to show 2 events taking place at the same time.

8 Summer Vacations…  Use the examples on pages 18-19 to make vacation stories  Next class, we will begin by telling our stories.
