2.  Hello. I want to thank you for the opportunity to interview for this teaching position.  In being a teacher, I am aware of the effect that I play in student’s lives as an educator.  I strive to understand and respect each individual student’s needs to educate every single student to reach his or her fullest potential.  “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” – John DeweyEducation is not preparation for life; education is life itself.

3.  Every student brings his or her special individuality and potential to the classroom. It is my goal as a teacher to help students to develop to their fullest potential by believing in them, supporting risk-taking, and providing them a safe environment, so they can think critically, comprehend knowledge, and be able to form and express their thoughts and ideas.  The ultimate goal is to ensure that each student’s individual educational needs are being met so that each child is given the best chance at learning as possible.  Providing a student with a higher-level education will give the students more of an opportunity to be successful in the global economy.

4.  A successful classroom management plan will create an environment that is conducive to learning.  In order to manage a prosperous classroom, I will be utilizing the following as a guide to help create an environment conducive to learning:  establishing classroom rules and expectations  developing strategies that will be used for managing student behavior  acknowledging the role that I will play  acknowledging the role that the students will play  implementing an effective classroom plan  facilitating and inspiring student learning and creativity  designing and developing digital age learning experiences and assessments  providing an effective visual representation of the physical arrangement of the classroom.

5.  Providing curriculum and activities that challenge and engage students is crucial for the success in education for each student. I believe that this school should implement the Hybrid School model of teaching.  Using the hybrid style, will have students utilizing a combination of learning online with learning in the classroom.  Students will be spending a portion of a day or week working online and outside the classroom.  Students will be expected to participate in group discussions and collaborate with their classmates in person.  They will have the ability to complete assignments on their own time and turn them in online by the assignment due dates.  This hybrid style will allow students will move at their personal pace based on subject mastery which in turn will give the students a better chance of comprehending material and lessons.

6.  The student’s main role in the classroom will be to learn and obtain knowledge while practicing critical thinking.  Student will participate actively with the activities and lessons.  The students will complete portions of their work online and come to class prepared with specific needs that are to be addressed.

7.  Building an inclusive professional learning community is collaborating and reflecting with a group of people that are dedicated to providing all students with learning opportunities to support students in their educational success.  This group of people takes a close look at improving student learning and an educational system that will promote continual learning for students.  Those people who are involved in the professional learning community, work together to assist in obtaining success in achieving their individual goals.

8.  If you were to walk into my classroom, you should expect to see students desks grouped together in fours with the teacher’s desk off to the sides.  This gives students opportunities to collaborate with one another for better comprehension of subject material.  There will be multiple technology stations set up so that students can utilize them conveniently while grasping 21 st century skills.  There will also be shelving and cabinets to store individual student belongings along with teacher and classroom supplies.  The classroom will be set up to allow students access to move around without running into and or interrupting one another.
