2 My background- I grew up in Plymouth Meeting and Montgomeryville areas. I graduated from North Penn High School in 2002. I attended Bloomsburg University for my Undergrad and Cabrini College for my Masters. Currently working toward a second Masters Program in Instructional Media (Technology) through Wilkes University. My teaching experience- Completed student teaching in 1 st and 3 rd grade in the Central Bucks School District Writing Lab teacher at Cold Spring 1 st grade at both Cold Spring/Jamison 5 th grade at Cold Spring 4 th grade at Bridge Valley 2 nd grade at Kutz First year at Butler

6  One of my favorite foods is pickles.  I wear glasses to read and drive at night.  I am the youngest of six children.  One day I want to go skydiving.  I drink over 100 ounces of water daily.

8 Every student in our class will have the opportunity to be my V.I.P. at some point during the school year. They will receive several privileges during their specific week.  Lead Class in Pledge each morning  Choose the “Brain Breaks” for the day  Read the Essential Questions/Objectives for the day  Utilize the rocking chair during Independent Reading  ”Sharing Time” throughout the week after special

9  An average of 50 minutes will be assigned daily and possibly on weekends to help maintain and reinforce 5th grade skills.  All assignments MUST be written in Assignment Book each day, which students will complete during Morning Work. (Also, found on classroom website)  -Math HW every night (quiz or test) -Spelling HW due on Thursday -Spelling Test on Friday -Reading Log due at the end of the month -Other subjects are more sporadic -Friday Folder signed by Monday  Homework will be checked on DUE dates. If students fail to complete the assignments, they will make it up during recess and/or for additional homework another night. Missed assignments will be documented and 3 or more a marking will be reflected on the quarterly progress report.

10 -Friday Folders will begin to be sent home every Friday with all graded assignments from the previous week. Students will share all tests and quizzes with parents over the weekend. -Students will write a comment and also receive a personal comment from me summarizing the student’s success and behavior for that particular week. -Parents will sign and/or comment in the “Parent Comment” section. In the past, many parents would write their own comment back in order to communicate on a weekly basis! If the student does not have the folder signed on Monday morning, it will count as a missing homework assignment.
