2. Body features The Galapagos Tortoise has interesting body features. They have five claws on each front foot and four on the back. This tortoise has a long neck and a female can actually weigh up to 400 pounds. These giant tortoise skin color can be black or dark brown.Speaking of their skin, it can be very dry and skaley.Also males can whigh 700 pounds.

3. Foods There are some fascinating foods that the Galapagos Tortoise eats. Some foods it eats are cactus and leaves. Did you know that a Galapagos Tortoise is a vegetarian, which means it eats only fruits and flowers.

4. Life cycle The Galapagos Tortoise has an interesting life cycle. It lays up to 16 eggs and it takes 4 to 8 months before the eggs hatch. Nest digging takes several hours to do. They mate between February and June.

5. Habitat There is only one place were the Galapagos Tortoise lives.It lives on the Galapagos Islands which is west of South America. The Galapagos Tortoise live in the lowlands. The lands they live on are dry.
