Be able to identify a major scale pattern MSF 3.4, 2.6 Sight read a four measure melodic pattern of quarter and half rhythms based on the one octave d major scale. MSF 3.4, 2.5, 2.6 Repeat a four note pattern on a given string. MSF 3.4 Tuning open strings with fine tuners by the end of 5 th grade. MSF 3.1 Count/clap/say rhythm patterns in their music. MSF 2.5, 2.7 Visually identify intervals from written notation. MSF 3.4, 2.6 Tuning open strings with tuning pegs by the end of 6 th grade. MSF 3.7 Bowings of slurred two or more notes with one bow, bow speed changes, tremolo and spiccato. MSF 2.7, 3.7 Introduction of vibrato technique. MSF 2.7, 3.7 Fingerings: Cellists, back and forward extensions; violin and viola high three and all low one; basses half position. MSF 3.7 Double stop with additional pitches, subdividing the rhythms by a slash mark, and louree. MSF 2.7, 3.7 Vibrato. MSF 2.7, 3.7 Playing octave natural harmonics preparing for shifting exercises.
