3 BOARDING SCHOOL FDR went to Boarding School when he was 14. At 16 FDR was manager of a school baseball team. The students lived at Boarding school & did a fundraiser to help people in the community.

4 THEODORE ROOSEVELT Theodore Roosevelt had a lot of energy & enthusiasm. Theodore Roosevelt was FDR’s hero. Theodore Roosevelt had been governor of New York & Vice President of the U.S.

5 FRANKLIN & ELEANOR ROOSEVELT Franklin & Eleanor believed it was their duty to help others. Eleanor Roosevelt was FDR’s niece. Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt worked together.

7 Personal challenges Polio A disease that can affect people to walk and many people can die from it or many people are disabled

10 The depression  In 1929 hard depression was going on and people lost their jobs and homes.

16 Changes because of war The war changed the way people lived. Meat, sugar, and even shoes where hard to find.

25 ELEANOR AS A CHILD Eleanor was shy when she was a child. Around Christmas time she would decorate peoples Christmas tree because they did not have money to buy ornaments. Her father calls her little darling. She grew up to be one of the bravest woman in the world.

26 MISS SOUVESTRE Miss Souvester was the head of the school that Eleanor went to. She encouraged Eleanor to think for her self. She told Eleanor she was A leader.

27 HELPING IMMIGRANTS Immigrants mostly don’t have money. They live in unhealthy and unsafe places. Eleanor helped by teaching them to read.

29 FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT The importance of Franklin Roosevelt was that he Helped people and was Eleanor’s husband.

30 WOMEN’S RIGHTS The importance of women’s rights are that they give the women rights like the right to vote.

31 HELPING HER HUSBAND The importance of Eleanor Roosevelt helping her husband was that she thought that everyone should remember franklin Roosevelt

34 Letters Written to Eleanor  Lots of people wrote letters to her about there troubles.  300,000 people wrote to her from America.

35 Eleanor's Travels  Eleanor traveled for FDR since he couldn’t walk so, she traveled all over our country.  She helped people that needed it.  She visited to Canada, England, and Australia.

36 Eleanor Roosevelt and the public  She helped lots of people.  She was so nice she went into a coal mine to see how they were being treated.

37 World War II  They had world war II in 1941.  Many people fought each other.  Men and Women were fighting for the United States.
