13 Attention Stance The position of At attention, or Standing at attention is a military posture which involves the following general postures: [1] [1] Standing upright with an assertive and correct posture: famously "chin up, chest out, shoulders back, stomach in". Arms fixed at the side, thumb parallel to trouser seem/stripe. "Eyes front": head and eyes locked in a fixed forward posture. Ideally eyes unmoving fixated on a distant object. Blank facial expression. Keeping the heels together, toes apart (roughly a 45 ° angle) No speech, facial or bodily movements except when required.

14 Raise your right hand smartly until the tip of your forefinger (index finger) touches the brim of your cap, above and slightly to the right of your right eye. Keep your thumb and fingers extended and joined, palm to the left, with your hand and wrist straight. Hold your upper arm horizontal, and your forearm inclined at an angle of 45 °. Finish a standard salute by dropping your arm to your side in one motion. 45 ° Hand Salute
