2 The vision concerned Israel (v11) They found themselves in exile over in Babylon because of their sin They are desperate and depressed But in the midst of this Israel was encouraged to look toward God God loved His people enough to strip them of false confidences that ensnared them

When God’s word is respected When God’s word is respected – Deut. 8:1-3 1 “Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers. 2 And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. 3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.”

5 When God’s word is respected When God’s word is respected – Matthew 4:3-4 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” [a]a Can These Bones Live?

10 When priorities are right When priorities are right – Irony: We find our life by losing it – Losing it to Christ! (Mt. 10:39; 16:25) – We don’t decide whether we live or die, we only decide what we live and die for (Col. 3:1-4) bbbbb Can These Bones Live?

11 There will be a resurrection one day, both of the just and the unjust (Acts 24:15) The hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth – those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation (Jn. 5:30) Yes, These Bones Will Live
