Identify and outline at least one new tutor recruitment strategy you will implement by June 13, 2016. Develop a list of topics to be covered in tutor orientation or b) analyze your current orientation and revise if appropriate. Practice using the new Tutor Flipbooks and Tutor Coordinator Companion manual to provide tutor training. Develop a process to support tutors in developing and presenting effective lesson plans in your tutoring sessions. Objectives

14 Pennsylvania Professional Development System By the end of today my smart goal might be By July 1, 2016 I will have a two hour tutor orientation ready to present to the next group of tutors. The orientation will address: the organization's history programs and services mission, vision and values student profile confidentiality requirements paperwork requirements job description, etc. I will have a power point and accompanying handouts and plan a tour of the facility, with brief introductions to current tutors and learners or a visit to a classroom. I will schedule tutor orientations once every two months, one on a weekday evening and one on a Saturday morning. I will share my plan with my program administrator and get the dates of the orientation publicized to hold me accountable. Goals ~ Orientation Example
