6 LIMERICK A LIMERICK is a humorous 5 line poem that always follows the same pattern.

7 BALLAD A Ballad is a songlike poem that tells a story; often deals with adventure and romance.

8 FREE VERSE FREE VERSE refers to any poem that does not include rhyme or meter.

9 SONNET A SONNET is a 14 line lyric poem that ends in a rhyming couplet

11 COUPLET A COUPLET is formed when 2 lines of consecutive poetry rhyme. Often used at the end of a stanza.

14 NARRATIVE POEM A NARRATIVE POEM is any poem that tells a story.

15 LYRIC POEM A LYRIC POEM is any poem which explores feelings or images. It does not tell a story.
