2 Summer Camp 2015 Camp runs from Sunday June 19 th to Saturday June 25 th. The scouts need to stay until Saturday Morning unless there is a real necessity to leave early. –Please send Rick an email if there is a reason –You will need to carry all of his gear out of the camp…cars are not allowed into the campsite on Friday. –If you are taking your son home…We need to know by Monday Jun 13 th.

3 We will meet on Sunday June 22 nd @ 11:00 AM in the Church Lot. Scouts need to be in full uniform –If they have not taken the swim test, they need to have a swim suit and towel with them in a day pack to take the test. Need a water bottle for the afternoon Bring cameras…we will take a troop photo before leaving. If you are not attending camp…please come for the picture in uniform. Feed them before you bring them…we will not eat until supper @ 6:00 PM. 3

4 Medical Forms-Sam Must have Part A, Part B, and Part C completed by the Monday before camp begins…June 13 th. Need the over the counter drug paper completed and signed by Monday June 13 th. Need the prescription drug form completed by June 13 th. –We only need to know what drugs you are sending with your son for the week…do not add others if we will not have them. –Please list the name on the original package…it must come in the original bottle(s). –Place in plastic bag with name and directions…just in case. 4

5 Med forms-Sam… Con’t All Meds go to Mat Meyer or Carl Barnett for the week at camp. May not keep any meds other than emergency items…rescue inhalers or Epi Pens…including over the counter meds. –Please keep the sample pens at home. Please let us know if your son is currently suffering from an injury or an illness…or just getting over an injury or illness. 5

6 Personal Gear All gear will be loaded into the trailers and trucks to go to camp If there is something your son will need before they get to the campsite…put it in the day pack. Trailers/trucks will be labeled…Shenandoah, or Seneca…make sure their gear gets to the correct place. The scouts will know where they are staying before we meet on Sunday to leave. 6

7 Friday Night Welcome to come at any time on Friday to see Camp…Bring lunch or let me know you need a ticket…$5.00 per person. Chicken BBQ is available beginning @ 5:30 PM in the Dining Hall…$9.00 for everyone…Scouts/leaders in camp eat free. –Purchase from Mr./Mrs. Ski by Monday June 13 th if possible. Can tailgate in the campsite if you wish…with your son. Court of Honor @ 7:00 PM in Seneca…bring chairs. 7

8 Friday Night…con’t Retreat Ceremony in front of the Dining Hall @ 7:50 PM. Campfire at the Campfire Circle follows Retreat. –We do not attend this as a troop. –You are welcome to go on your own-may need to stand. Welcome to come back to the campsite for a Troop campfire as well. Stay as long as you would like. Do NOT take your son home Friday unless you made arrangements to do so…I will not say “YES” 8

9 Friday Boards of Review We are looking for parents to help with Boards of Review Friday beginning @ 9:30 AM. –If you are available…please see Keri LinsenBigler…let her know when you can arrive. –We need to be finished as early as possible, so a 2:00 PM arrival is not real helpful for Boards of Review…come see your son instead. –Looking for approximately 12 to 15 people. 9

10 Saturday Return We should be back at the Church by 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Please do not leave until everyone is dismissed…many things to put a way for the summer. –We will also pass out Summer Camp Patches at that time. Make sure you pick up all of your gear…often there are many things left behind once everyone is gone… 10

11 Money It is up to you what you wish to send…please realize that if you send $20.00 and your son is taking Basketry, $18.00 of the $20.00 will go to the Merit Badge. We will hold cash and give it out every morning after Breakfast…if you would like us to do so. –Please place in an envelope with instructions on how much to give each day or whatever your instructions are. –Please give us change…don’t say “give $5.00 and only have a $20.00 in the envelope. 11

12 Money… con’t Rob Dieteman will collect the money on Sunday before we leave. Scouts will see him to get their money each morning after breakfast. 12

13 Foot Locker Locks As in the past, we will keep spare keys and combinations for lockers. Please place in a sealed envelope with name on the front. Give to Keri on Sunday morning for safe keeping. Do NOT rely on the lock that comes on the footlocker…everyone has the same key. 13

14 Phone/Mail Please do not send mail…we will not give it out until Friday. Please leave cell phones at home. –Crappy reception –Causes homesickness –Plenty to do without it. If you son calls home with an issue…do not drive to camp…call Rick or Walt. If your son says that Rick said it was OK…he’s lying!!! If he says that Rick said he could come home…He’s Lying!!!! 14

15 Electronics Please do not send electronic equipment. –It can get wet –It can get stolen –It can get broken –Leave it at home. –Radio w/headphones is fine…without headphones not fine. Camera is fine…phone/DS as camera is not. 15

16 Misc. Packing list is available on front table Merit badge pre-requisites need to be done BEFORE camp. –If the requirement says “show the counselor” he needs to bring it with him. –We will not have stuff to fix all MB issues. Bunks are canvas…padding is fine… 2 scouts per tent…only two. –Need to keep it neat. –Will be warned and then tossed… 16

17 Misc…con’t Trading Post: –Snacks, scout stuff, toiletries, and crap is available for purchase. –Will not allow knives to be purchased without your blessing. –Better for you to get it on Friday. Please label all personal gear from the outside…it gets mixed up easily with everything else… Let us know if your son has special needs or needs something special… –Afraid of something…sleepwalks, night terrors…etc. –Would rather know now…before we find out at 2 AM!!! 17

18 Problems If you find out about an issue…call Rick or Walt DO NOT come to camp for homesickness…will make it worse!!!! If you are with the cubs that week…please do not walk over…makes it worse. He will make it through…we have not lost one yet…do not plan to begin this year. 18
