The purpose of the survey was to gather feedback from MMCAP Medical Supplies and Equipment contract users related to: Experiences and satisfaction with MMCAP’s distributors Barriers to using MMCAP’s contracts Use of ancillary services offered through MMCAP distributors Importance of various top-spend offerings Factors and trends affecting patient care in the future And to better understand the MMCAP Medical Supplies and Equipment customer.
3
Surveys were sent to MMCAP medical supplies and equipment contacts Response rate= 20% (58 respondents out of 290 surveys sent) The survey was conducted in November, 2013 and open for two weeks Online survey
4
A key finding of the survey was that the current list of MMCAP Medical Supplies and Equipment contacts needs to be refined. ◦ We sent surveys out to MMCAP’s contact list after cleaning the email addresses and attempting to track down missing contact information for over 50 facilities. The final email distribution list included 371 email contacts. ◦ Once the survey was distributed via email, 74 of the emails (20%) bounced back. Of these we were able to find updated contact information for 16 by calling the facilities we had listed. ◦ Several contacts were removed from the list because they responded that they no longer used MMCAP. ◦ In the end, 290 surveys were sent to viable email addresses.
5
All but two respondents indicated they were involved in purchasing. Respondents were categorized as “low” or “high” users depending on their annual MMCAP medical supplies sales Low-users= annual sales between $12,000 and $49,999 High-users= annual sales of $50,000 or more. 53% of respondents were high-users, 47% low-users. Differences in responses between the high- and low-users are highlighted when they are statistically significant at the 5% level.

We would like to be able to purchase 100% of our products through MMCAP.” “Please send each MMCAP member an email with their MMCAP online access information. I have experienced problems in the past and to be honest I couldn't even tell you what my online username/password are.” “Maybe more involvement when a major change is being made by the vendor. Prefer that MMCAP contracts with multiple manufacturers for high usage products (e.g., syringes, gloves) (9 out of 18 people).
