Place the AIR BEAR on the cot with the “H” facing up and pointing to the head of the cot.

A good starting point is 15 to 18 inches from the top of the cot to the top of the AIR BEAR 15 to 18 inches

 Attach the Head End first to the tube frame. Attaching the head end first will keep the device from sliding down while attaching the rest of the frame straps. Though we are using a FERNO ambulance cot for this demonstration the application is relatively the same.

 Continue down the side of the cot until all straps on both sides are attached.

 Place a sheet, blanket, or your patient warming blanket on top of the BEAR.  Doing so will make transfer of your patient to their destination easy and safe.

 Position your patient on the BEAR and wrap the blue nylon mesh around the abdominal section of the patient.

 Secure the Red, Blue, and Green straps around the abdominal section as shown. You can cross the Blue and Green straps if needed.  The patients arms can be in or out of the device.

 DO NOT tighten the 2” nylon straps to a point of patient discomfort or in a manner that interferes with patient breathing. Do not use this product without first reviewing the training presentation and instructions. The training presentation is located on the training tab at www.beariatrics.com Misuse could result in injury up to and including death. This product is designed to support the large abdominal mass/pannus of a bariatric/obese patient onto the center of the transport device. Our product should never be tighter than a seat belt, backboard straps, or KED® straps. You must always follow your local protocols for securing a patient to a stretcher, and your local protocols for immobilizing patients to a longboard device. Our product is designed to be used by trained professionals who are capable of monitoring a patient and patient breathing. www.beariatrics.com

 The lower restraint system is for tall or short patients. Note there are three straps for the lower extremities. 1 2 3 Lower Restraint Straps

 Use the middle and the left strap for tall patients.

 Use the middle and the right strap for shorter patients.

 Last are the Horizontal Restraints and then your departments restraint and harness system.
