Hello, my name is Ahlami Bin Mohd Rafi. I’m from SPE 3. For this final presentation video, I will talk about ‘Japanese Food’. Japan is a food lovers paradise. Japanesse people are obsessed with food. In Japan, food is a popular topic of conversation. It’s also on Japanese television a great deal. The quality of ingredients, preparation, presentation and service in Japan are world class. Tokyo has more top rated gourmet restaurants than any other city in the world. Japanese food is considered one of the world’s great cuisines.

That’s not to say that Japanese people are eating gourmet food all the time. There are also everyday food served at affordable restaurants, festivals, truck stops and ski hills that are equally delicious and interesting. 1. Kyoto Food As Japan's former capital and seat of the imperial court for over a thousand years, Kyoto offers a rich culinary tradition. The local food culture is diverse and ranges from aristocratic kaiseki ryori course dinners to the vegetarian shojin ryori of monks and the simple obanzai ryori home style cooking.

Regular Japanese food that is not necessarily associated with Kyoto in particular, such as ramen, sushi and udon, is also available across the city. Food fans should not miss a visit to the Nishiki Market in central Kyoto, which has been serving the city for many centuries. a. Kaiseki Ryori

2. Osaka Food It has been said that the people of Osaka spend more on food than on anything else, and the term "kuidaore" ("eat until you drop") is used to describe the food culture here. At the same time, the locals have high expectations towards the quality of their cuisine, and restaurants have to maintain high standards or face closure. Not surprisingly, Osaka is famous for various local dishes, some of which have attained nationwide and even international fame. Luckily for the budget traveler, most of these dishes are economical fares:

c. Kushikatsu d. Kitsune Udon

3. Nagoya Food Located along the fertile Nobi Plain, Nagoya has long been an agricultural and economic center, which has allowed it to developed a strong culinary tradition wholly distinct from its neighbors. Unlike the delicate subtlety of Kyoto Cuisine or the lavish Osaka food culture, local Nagoya specialties follow their own unique style and have the familiar feeling of hearty, comfort foods. A wide variety of restaurants can be found around the city, especially around Nagoya Station, Sakae and along the city's various shopping arcades.

6. Kagoshima Food Kagoshima's cuisine is also known as Satsuma Cuisine ( 薩摩料理, Satsuma Ryōri) after the old name of Kagoshima Prefecture. It is one of the most distinct local cuisines because of Kagoshima's isolated location at the southern end of Kyushu. Travelers may notice some influences of Okinawa cuisine, as Okinawa was controlled by Satsuma for a few hundred years in the past. A wide variety of restaurants can be found in downtown Kagoshima, for example along Gourmet-dori ("Gourmet Street").
