1. Past Events Relating to Current Event: Week 2 By: Lexxis Onken

2. Current Event: 9/11 O The topic I chose is 9/11. Even though that happened 10 years ago, it is still brought to out attention every year on 9/11. The people we lost 10 years ago, are still remembered today. I think it is neat that the day is such a memorable day. The flags, the people at the site of the towers, the bells going off ALL around the world, the memorial speech of all the people that died, etc. I realize it was such a tragic day, but people day a great part in it making these people that are now deceased still feel like they are a part of this world every year, and their families also.

3. Past Event: 9/11 O When this day happened on September 9 th, 2011, I was in 1 st grade. I didn’t quite realize what was going on until I saw everything on the television and we had a lockdown. I was so confused, but then all of our parents got called to come get us from school. I had then seen it when I got home & as a 1 st grader, I couldn’t believe it. I remember that day like it was yesterday, and till this day I still cant believe it happened.

4. How it Relates to the Current Event O It relates to the current event, because if that wouldn’t have happened 10 years ago, we wouldn’t have the memory of it today. I’m not saying the memory is good, but with all the people that pay respects to it today, it is a honor. If 9/11 wouldn’t have happened, we wouldn’t be putting a memorial or remembering what had happened that day.

5. How could the past event have ended differently to make the current event not happen? O If the airplanes would have never hit the Twin Towers, we would have no recollection of 9/11. September 11 th would just be as normal as any other day. We wouldn’t have the tears, the flags, the hate (for who did it), the grief, the memorial service every anniversary of it and the speech's people give for the ones they lost. I think 9/11 really changed and affected America today!
