4 How far an integer is from zero on a number line. Your answer will always be positive. -6 = 6 9 = 9 +6 = 6 The straight bars around the numbers are asking you to find the absolute value of the integer.

5 1. Zero has NO sign. 2. On a number line, negative numbers are to the left of zero and positive numbers are to the right of zero. 3. All negative and positive numbers are called integers. 4. Zero is greater than any negative number. 0 > -7-2 < 0 5. Every positive number is greater than any negative number. 6. Every negative number has a positive opposite and every positive number has a negative opposite. 7. The more to the right on a number line, the greater the number. 8. The more to the left you move, the lower the value of the number.
