Spotlight Presentations Lecture format on a specific topic Share educational findings or an experience with the goal to propose or report findings which may be of interest to other programs. Maximum of 2 presenters

Workshops Workshops are the best option when the objective is to provide an experiential and /or hands-on type of session.

Workshops educational techniques, approaches and skills engage the participants in interactive activities foster exchange and discovery of information

Workshops – new this year… Maximum of 2 presenters Additional 3 facilitators to assist with group work throughout the room 10-15 minute presentation followed by 35-40 minutes of active participation

Focused Discussion Session This format is the best option for audience based discussions either in large or small groups in which brainstorming, exploring and exchanging of ideas on a focused identified problem, issue or challenge is addressed.

Focused Discussion Session Presenters are expected to facilitate substantive discussion as well as submit a summary of the main discussion points and outcomes to the PAEA National Office no later than two weeks after the conference

Focused Discussion – new this year Maximum of 2 presenters Additional 3 facilitators to assist with discussions throughout the room

Focused Discussion Session Introduction and background information must not exceed 10 minutes The remainder of the session time being discussion, ending with a summative closing process. Sharing of ideas, thoughts, and insights!

Focused Discussion Session Exploring the Various Roles of the Medical Director Evaluating Professionalism: Identifying Concrete and Specific Methods PA Faculty as Standardized Patients Identifying and Quantifying Required Skills for Clinical Rotations

Expert Panel Provides varying views and opinions on a particular issue or topic in PA education Presenters must have significant knowledge and experience related to the topic and be distinguished through scholarship or experience

Expert Panel Statement for each presenter defining their expertise is required with submission Minimum of 3 presenters; maximum of 5 Each panel member must present, but must also allow time for audience Q&A

Guidelines for Proposal Submission All sessions are 50 minutes in length Must select a single presentation format for each topic submission Multiple submissions on different topics by the same presenters are acceptable

Guidelines for Proposal Submission Proposals must be submitted by a “lead presenter” who: ◦ Is the author of the proposal ◦ Be a member of PAEA (secondary authors do not have to be PAEA members) ◦ Must participate in the presentation as much if not more than the other presenters ◦ Is the main contact for communication

Proposal Evaluation Process Proposals are blinded and peer reviewed by multiple committee members

Proposal Evaluation Process Proposals must be complete to include: ◦ Relevance to PA education or practice ◦ Topic description supported by learning objectives ◦ Appropriate reference ◦ Submission adheres to format guidelines ◦ Professional composition/style ◦ Clear organization of material to be presented ◦ Complete submission form

NEW… Additional Opportunities May Exist The Education Committee may consider presentations at the PAEA Education Forum that are highly evaluated and well attended as encore presentations at other conferences such as the AAPA Annual Conference
