6 Playlist Profile Playlists organize songs around themes, genres for entertainment and connection with other people. Playlists organize songs around themes, genres for entertainment and connection with other people. Profiles focus on a dimension of a person to make a point. Profiles focus on a dimension of a person to make a point. Playlist profiles fuse these two purposes: profile leaders, historical or current, through music and research to help readers to understand leadership in more complex ways than just the powerful man model, to wield epideictic rhetoric, to connect, to entertain. 9 Why? Rhetorical Awareness Meta-awareness: Teachers of the playlist mashup assignment may find it particularly powerful for augmenting other teaching about genre and rhetoric. 12 Track #1: To Build a Home The Cinematic Orchestra: “To Build a Home.” Ma Fleur. Ninja Tunes, 2007 Elizabeth’s main goal since day one was to have her people and countrymen be as much a part in her decisions as possible. She often made sure that “everyone-even the beggar- played a part” (Briscoe). “This is a place where I don’t feel alone, this is a place where I feel at home. And I build a home for you, for me.” These lyrics relate to how Elizabeth felt about her people. She wanted to make everyone feel like England was their home, and feel welcome. She was often seen pausing to listen to everyone. During her coronation she took congratulations from ordinary people, and stopped to talk to people as she walked in.... She wanted to let people know that England was not her country but it was their home, and they shared it together.
