2
1 st Scenario The scenario is you and your friends are having fun playing basketball. Another friend arrives a little later and starts talking to two of the other friends. The three of them motion to the rest of the group to join them off to the side. They light a marijuana cigarette and pass it around. The cigarette comes to you.
3
The problem is that it is bad for you and it is illegal The 2 alternative decisions are to just pass it on or to say that it is bad and you shouldn’t do it I would just pass it on The impact of that decision is your friends could think that you’re chicken or a loser I wouldn’t change my decision but I might give them a bit of a heads ups for the dangers involved. Then it will become there choice to the right or wrong thing
4
2 nd Scenario The scenario is you and a friend are at a party. Before the party, your friend arranges with her/his parents to get a ride home for you both at the end of the evening. When it is time to leave, her/his brother and a friend arrive to pick you up instead of her/his parents. You notice that both boys have been drinking and there is even an open bottle of beer in the car. It isn't very far to your house though.
5
The problem is that they are drunk so you are way more likely to crash The 2 alternative decisions are to walk home since it is close or to call a cab I would just walk home but if the weather is bad I would call a cab The impact of that decision is it might take longer to get home but at lest it is safer I wouldn’t change my decision but I would tell the driver what he is doing and the dangers. Then the diver has to decide what the right thing to do is.
6
3 rd scenario The scenario is you are allergic to secondhand smoke. Your friends want you to go to a party that will have lots of people smoking at it.
7
The problem is that your allergic to secondhand smoke and you could get offered a cigarette The 2 alternative decisions are to not go at all or to host your own party without cigarettes I would just not go because if you host a party you’re going to have to clean up and people could still bring cigarettes The impact of that decision is that aren’t going to see your friends I wouldn’t change my decision because I can always just see them another day
8
4 th scenario The scenario is few of your friends often pitch- in together to buy a pack of beer. Today, they want you to kick in some money to help buy that pack. You don’t drink and feel it's unfair that you should have to pitch-in for their booze. Besides, you have been trying to save your money to buy a really cool snowboard. They start accusing you of being cheap and tell you to get lost if you don't want to be part of the group.
9
The problem is that your friends want you to contribute money to something that you don’t want to be apart of The 2 alternative decisions are to just leave or to stay and say that it is unfair because you don’t drink and that your saving up I would stay and say that it is unfair because I don’t drink and that I’m saving up but if they are still being mean then I would leave The impact of that decision is that they might not listen and still think your cheap or they could listen and then stop asking you I wouldn’t change my decision because I wouldn’t expect them to contribute to something that they aren’t getting
10
5 th and final Scenario The scenario is you have just pigged out on a plate of brownies and feel that you have just gained five pounds. You suggest to your girlfriend that you need to go for a workout and burn the brownies off. Your girlfriend says "Why?" and hands you a cigarette
11
The problem is that you got offered a cigarette from your girlfriend and it is bad for you The 2 alternative decisions are to just say no I would rather just go and workout or you could tell her that smoking is bad and that it doesn’t make you loses weight then stay home and go workout another day I would say no thanks and say I would rather just go get some exercise The impact of this decision that your girlfriend could confused I wouldn’t change my decision because then I wouldn’t be able to go workout because we would get in to a long conversation about smoking
