5. TASK: Which are more important; short- term or long-term causes? Explain why. Answer… We think short term causes because if the short term cause didn’t happen, then the rioting would not have happened. But because of the facts it shows as a long term cause that 99% were black – they didn’t care about them to keep them out of trouble, so that has happened before the short term cause, but if they didn’t have the short term cause, they would not have had the chance to riot.
