3 Simile (noun) A comparison of two unlike things that uses “like” or “as” You are as brave as a lion. Santa’s belly was like a bowl full of jelly.

5 (noun) A comparison of two unlike things that DOES NOT use “like” or “as” Your head is a box of rocks. You are the sunshine of my life.

6 Alliteration

7 (noun) repetition of consonant sound in the first syllables of a series of words or phrases Laura laughs loudly like little leopards.

9 (noun) a word that imitates the sound it represents. Boom! Crackle Chirp

25 Allusion (noun) A figure of speech where the speaker/narrator refers to another (usually famous) person, place, or work of art. Harriet Tubman was thought of as the Moses of her time. You could say that chocolate is my Kryptonite.
