2. Learning Objectives To understand the conventions of magazine article writing. To be able to write an article in Paper 2 Section B.

3. Starter True or False? In the exam, a magazine article is written in past tense only. In the exam, a magazine article can be written in first or third person. 12. Food Glorious Food? Bangers and mash, roast dinners, sponge pudding and custard. Typical British cooking. Or is it? Burger and chips, pizzas and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Are these now not the staple dishes of the British diet? Are we facing a crisis in Britain, with people preferring a quick ready meal in front of the television, rather than a traditional Sunday lunch at the dinner table?
