6 Log in to BearQuest by going to www.baylor.edu/bearquestwww.baylor.edu/bearquest 1-6 Introduction to BearQuest: Starting your request Sign in, if required, using your Baylor email address as your "user name" and your regular Windows password as the password. On the BearQuest home page, click "start a request" in the upper left corner of the screen.

7 1-7 Introduction to BearQuest: Starting your request Click on the arrow next to “Course Action,” then select the type of request you want to make – either a Change Course Request or a New Course Request. You do not have to fill out anything on the next screen; just click "start request." This will take you to the first form to complete for your specific request type. For more information on how to complete that form see the section of this user guide for “new course requests” or the section for “change course requests.”

8 My Dashboard – Section of the screen that allows you to navigate among new and existing requests. Forms - Screens in BearQuest are called “forms.” Making a request in BearQuest is basically a process of completing a form and then forwarding the form through the review and approval path. This “Select Department” form is the first form in the “New Course Request” process. Task - Each task will contain one or more fields. You enter the information about your request into fields. The example task (next page) only contains one field, the field for entering the name of the department for you request. “Task” tab – This is the tab you will be working in when you enter information about your request. “Request detail” tab – You can use this tab to get additional information about your request, for example to see the request number or to review the information that was entered in a previous form. “Discussion” tab – You can use this tab to add comments or to attach documents to your request or to send an email with a link to the information about the request. “Save Draft” button -- If you want to save your work and come back later, click “save a draft.” When you are ready to resume work, you can find the request by clicking on “my task” under the “My Dashboard” section of the screen. “Submit” Button – This button works almost like a “next” button. It saves the data you have entered and moves the request to the next step in the process. Important note: There is no going back to make changes once you have clicked Submit. Do not use the “back” button in your browser to go back to review and correct your work. You will have a chance to review and correct your work before releasing your request for review. Asterisks (*) – Asterisks indicate required fields. Introduction to BearQuest: Basic Screen Navigation
