3 Nutrition It ’ s a guide to what, and how much, should be eaten every day. What is the food Pyramid ? What does it include?.

4 Nutrition - the food Pyramid Bread, Rice, Pasta, Potato group: 6 – 11 servings a day. Vegetables group: 3 – 5 servings a day. Fruits group: 2-4 servings a day. Milk, yogurt and cheese group: 2-3 servings a day.

7 Traditional food Different countries, all around the world, have different food: The food is cooked differently, Includes different ingredients, And is eaten differently

8 Traditional food - England In England, for example, they eat: Fish and chips Mashed potatoes Baked beans & gravy Rice pudding And they drink a lot of tea!

10 Recipes Different foods are prepared in different ways. Every dish has a recipe

11 Recipes Some recipes can be followed very easily: scrambled Egg Recipe Ingredients:1 egg, 1 tablespoon butter, salt and pepper Utensils: frying pan, fork, cup Place the butter in the frying pan, and melt the butter slowly. Crack the egg and scramble it with the fork. Add salt and pepper. Gently pour the egg to the pan. Tip it over to the other side when it done on this side.

12 Recipes Others are very complicated … Cinnamon Loaf Recipe Ingredients: 1 package dry yeast,1/4 cup warm water,4 cups unbleached flour,1 teaspoon salt,1 cup butter,3 beaten egg yolks,1 cup lukewarm milk 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1/2 cup sugar, 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon Glaze: 1-1/2 cups confectioners sugar, 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla, 1 tablespoon warm water, 2 tablespoons softened butter. In small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. In a large bowl, conbmine the flour, 1/4 cup sugar and salt. Cut in the 1 cup of butter until mixture is mealy. Mix in the yeast, beaten egg yolks and milk until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours. Grease 2 loaf pans. Turn 1/2 of dough into well floured board. Roll into a rectangle, brush with 1 tablespoon melted butter. Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle half on rectangle. Roll up beginning at narrow edge. Pinch edge and seal. Place seam side down in pan. Repeat with the other loaf. Now, cover dough and let rise in a warm place for 2 hours. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 1 hour. Remove from pans, and frost with the glaze below. In small bowl, mix the above ingredients together. Add more warm water if needed to make smooth. Drizzle over the loaves.

14 Get Healthy! Our health can be influenced by the food we eat. Some foods are considered to be more healthy than others. Some foods are considered to be bad for your health.

15 Get Healthy! Fruits and vegetables include many vitamins and minerals important for our body. Unprocessed food, like whole wheat bread, full rice and pasta are better. Low fat dairy is better for us, and is less fattening!

16 Get Healthy! Eat more natural food. Eat fish. Drink at least 10 glasses of water a day. Reduce fat and sweets eating. And … Do more sports! So, what are the basic rules that should be followed?

18 Conclusion Food is very important in our lives. We should divide the kinds of food we eat according to what is needed for our body. Food is different in different places. Food can be prepared and cooked in many ways.
