4 Two fatal shots Only two shots were fired but, one hit Sophie in the stomach and the other hit Franz Ferdinand in the neck. Sophie, who was pregnant at the time, died first whereas the duke died later on in hospital. Contents page

10 On soldiers letters it would usually say, if it was there first letter, how glad they were to be there. They might even draw a picture of the trenches. On Christmas day it would say how they spent there Christmas. They would also put things like “keep safe and keep writing”. 13  Gramophones were invented but expensive.  The first aeroplane was invented ten years before world war one.aeroplane contents page

14 Horse’s were taken to war, not to fight but to carry the soldiers to war to take the dead and injured to the hospital. There is a book about a horse at war by Michael Morpurgo. Even though the horse’s were not meant to fight a lot of them died. Not just because of the fighting but because of the weather. Contents page
