2 THE SECOND CONDICIONAL  Use the second conditional to talk about a hypothetical/imaginary situation in the present or future and its consequence.  But there is not a real possibility that this condition will happen.  It is like a dream.  Basically it is like saying something you could do now and what would happen. 5 1. If it stopped raining, we would take the kids to the park. 2. Michael would buy the restaurant, if the bank gave him a loan. 3. She would enjoy cooking much more, if she had a bigger kitchen. 4. If they had more time, they would take up horseriding. 5. If we employed any more staff, we would need a larger office. EXAMPLES:
