Hybrid cars “Toyota Prius” and how they can effect price and environment?

Hybrid cars “Toyota Prius” The Toyota Prius is a hybrid electric mid size car developed and manufactured by the Toyota Motor Corporation. The Prius first went on sale in Japan in 1997, making it the first mass produced hybrid vehicle. It was subsequently introduced worldwide in 2001. The Prius is sold in more than 40 countries and regions, with its largest markets being those of Japan and North America. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 2007, the 2008 Prius is the most fuel efficient car sold in the U.S.The UK Department for Transport also reported the Prius is tied as the third least CO2 emitting vehicle on sale in the UK.

How does hybrid cars “Toyota Prius” save the environment? Since the gasoline is burnt at a low level in Toyota Prius, it produces lower toxic emissions than those produced by conventional vehicles. Toyota Prius relies less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, cause far less pollution than regular cars do. In fact, some studies have shown that Toyota Prius can reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by as much as fifty percent, and tailpipe emissions by as much as ninety percent. To sum up, Toyota Prius is much more economical because they consume fifty to sixty percent less fuel than regular vehicles do. That makes Toyota Prius very environmentally friendly.

Evidence on how does hybrid cars “Toyota Prius” save the environment? The pie chart below represents how much Carbon Dioxide is produce by Transportation in the U.S. now imagine almost everyone in the U.S. or at lease half of the drivers in the U.S. drive “Toyota Prius” then we can bring down the Carbon Dioxides Emissions down almost to zero.

How does hybrid cars save you money? Toyota Prius made up of lightweight materials. Because of the lightweight materials, the car doesn’t require as much fuel to move. Also, the tires of Toyota Prius are firmer than are those found on regular cars. Toyota Prius hybrid now i got to say its not a attractive car but just look at how much money a user can save by moving from Lexus that runs on petrol to Toyota Prius hybrid that obviously runs on Hydrogen. I interview a user and this is what he reckons he saves. I reckon I'm saving around £1,900 a year on company car tax compared to my old car. On top of that I've virtually halved the cost of my fuel, which saves me another £40 to £50 a month" so that's around £600 pound a year and if you add that to the £1,900 a year car tax that's like £2,500 a year saving money using Toyota Prius hybrid.

There are also myriad tax benefits, as the Government and local councils link more and more motoring taxes to your carbon emissions. Because the Prius emits less CO2 104g/km vs. 185g/km for that hapless Laguna the road tax is just £15 a year. The Laguna driver has to fork out £185. Then there's the London congestion charge which is free for the Prius, £8 a day for the Laguna and just about everyone else. Local councils are also getting in on the act, linking parking charges to CO2 in places like Lambeth and Richmond in south London. Richmond residents with a Prius or Honda Civic IMA now get half off their annual street permit bill. The biggest savings are to be had for company car drivers. Cars handed out free to employees are taxed partly according to their carbon dioxide and drive train so the Prius bill is just 12% of its purchase price thanks to a hybrid discount. That means this year a 40% taxpayer shells out £890 annually, compared to £1,710 for the driver of the similarly priced Laguna, charged at 24%. Weedon's old car was even worse on CO2 than the Laguna, hence his nearly £2,000 saving. Evidence on how does hybrid cars “Toyota Prius” save you money?

The only drawback to hybrid cars is that currently they tend to be a bit more expensive than traditional cars to initially purchase. However, this will change over time because more people will purchase hybrid vehicles due to the benefits and the pressures placed upon Governments to reduce pollution. A few years ago a report titled the ‘Dust to Dust’ report claimed that the total environmental footprint of a Hummer SUV was less than that of a Toyota Prius The report basically talks about once you take into the account the full costs associated with research, development, mining, operation and maintenance and finally the recycling of the hybrid car the total amount of energy consumed is greater than that of a Hummer over each vehicle’s usable lifetime. Recycling > = <
